An Old Coathamian – Not Forgotten

Arthur BLOWERS

First Officer, Merchant Navy.

Believed to have died in 1944.

Although his name appears on the School Memorial Plaque and there is reference in the school magazine of June 1944 to the death of First Officer Arthur Blowers, M.N., “killed at sea”, no War Graves record of an Arthur Blowers in the Merchant Navy has been traced.

His name is not in the available school Registers. However, he could well be in the Register for 1915 to 1919, which is missing from the series at the time of writing.
