An Old Coathamian – Not Forgotten

Stanley Charles HOLBROW

Died 21 May 1944, aged 28 years.

Buried in Wick (St. Mary) Churchyard, Wick, near Pershore,
Worcestershire, south of the church.

The unit to which he belonged, and the circumstances of his death, are at present unknown.

Stanley Charles Holbrow was the son of Charles and Marguerite Holbrow. He entered Coatham School in April 1928 as a boarder and joined School House. He left in July 1932. He joined the Old Coathamians Association soon after, and was then living at 155, Coniscliffe Road, Darlington, his parent’s home at the time of his death. In 1940 Stanley was on the first published list of Old Coathamians in H.M. Forces. By the time of his war service he was married. He and his wife Mary Fortune Holbrow were living in Pershore, Worcestershire, at the time of his death. He was first listed on the School’s Roll of Honour in December 1944.
